Offered by Over The Blue Horizon is an outstanding pictorial recently obtained in Tokyo: “MODEL ART PROFILE 9, MITSUBISHI T-2/F-1 OF JASDF”, Volume 815 of the long-running MODEL ART publications series. The Mitsubishi T-2 was developed as a two-seat supersonic trainer aircraft for the JASDF, serving a purpose similar to the USAF’s T-38. First flown in 1971, it was designed to also serve as an attack aircraft. The attack version, the F-1, is single seat and is armed with missiles and guns along with combat avionics. It can also serve as an interceptor carrying the AIM-9 missile. This ‘MODEL ART PROFILE’ series began publication in 2007 and covers aircraft flown by the Japan during WWII as well as more current jet aircraft flown by the Japanese Air Self Defence Force (JASDF). This exceptionally well-done, 136-page softcover targets the serious modeler as it includes 25 pages of a photographic sequence of three different Hasegawa 1/48 kit builds. Printed on high-quality glossy paper, this superb publication is absolutely jam-packed with photographs (mostly in color), profiles, and line drawings. Text is in Japanese with a 4-page section of well-done English text. Over The Blue Horizon believes this to be the finest book on this aircraft.
